Q. Who Needs An Estate Sale?
A. Anyone downsizing, relocating, remodeling, re-decorating, moving out-of-state, or liquidating a loved ones household. No antiques or collectibles? That's okay.
Everyday practical household items are also very popular. Everyone
loves a good sale. You may be surprised at what will sell....

Q. How large does my estate have to be for an estate / moving sale?
A. In order for Caring Transitions to be able to book an estate / moving sale, we have to be able to determine that a minimum of $5,000.00 in salable items are in the home.

Q. Can you sell the home?
A. Yes, we have a licensed Missouri and Illinois Real Estate Broker with the GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) designation on our team.

Q. Can Caring Transitions sell partial estates?
A. Generally, no, however, some estates are so large that even partially furnished homes meet the $5,000.00 minimum.

Q. How Does This Work?
A. Caring Transitions provides all of the resources needed to sort, organize attractively, display, research, price, advertise and sell the contents of an estate. We work with you, the client, and the sale customers to provide an enjoyable, secure and profitable sale experience for all parties. Typically we start working in the home 5 - 7 days prior to the actual sale event, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done. We bring in tables, displays and any additional items needed for set up.

Q. Do you sell on the Internet?
A. Yes. Our Internet Auction Placement Service is managed by on staff Education Specialist trained by eBay and an eBay power seller.

Q. How do you Market the sale?
A. We use a marketing mix dependent upon the sale strategy selected. Our goal is to bring motivated buyers to your sale! Request a Complimentary Assessment

Q. Where do you advertise my Estate Sale?
A. Caring Transitions marketing team utilizes the latest in Internet Advertising,
including photos, maps, e-mail and directions complete with a link to MapQuest which brings in interest from a broader base of buyers. Depending on the location of the home, we will select the best possible newspaper advertising. Directional signs are placed in areas where permitted. The cost for any Advertising of the Sale will be the sole responsibility of the seller or the legal estate designee except for the website advertising on www.ctstlouis.com and www.caringtransitions.net.

Q. What happens to what isn’t sold?
A. When the sale is completed Caring Transitions will introduce the client to a "clean out" person who will negotiate with the client for the remaining contents of the home. Or we can have the contents disposed of or made as a charitable donation. This organization will provide you with a tax deductible receipt.

Q. What are the Fees?
A. Caring Transitions' fees are based upon gross sales and services provided determined by the sales strategies and services required. Request an Estimate

Q. Do you clean the house after the sale is over?
A. No, however, Caring Transitions can make arrangements for a cleaning service, at an additional charge.

Q. Do you require a key to the home?
A. Yes, we do. Generally about 10 days prior to the sale.

Q. Can my family come to the Estate Sale?
A. If you want to, however, they may find it a very challenging and emotionally charged event and therefore we recommend they do not come to the sale. If they do attend they may not engage in any conversations with the public during the sale.

Q. Who prices the items in the home?
A. Caring Transitions is solely responsible for setting the prices and pricing strategy. If there are any items of unique value we appreciate the clients input and is discussed and agreed upon prior to the pricing process.

Q. Can family members removed items from the sale?
A. No, After entering into a Sales Agreement with Caring Transitions personal items may not be removed from the property unless otherwise agreed upon and specified in the sales agreement.
