Who is CAGA?

Q. What Do You Get for Your Money?
A. For your $38.00, you will get a CAGA Certified Personal Property “Opinion of Value based on an expert's examination of the scan or picture.

Because the quality of scans and photos varies, and because often the only way to be absolutely sure of an item’s quality is to physically examine it, the opinion offered will be our experts' candid reaction to the item based on the quality of the information presented in the request form and the photos or scans provided.

Q. Is this a Certified Appraisal?
A. No. This is a professional desktop opinion of the appropriately defined value, expressed in terms of cash in U.S. dollars to be realized by the sale of the described item, in which the opinion is generated from lists and/or other informational materials supplied to the appraiser and evaluated without the benefit of an actual on site inspection. This opinion is not an appraisal and should not be used as an appraisal and is not recommended for use in credit decisions. A desktop opinion is used to determine an estimate of value and the need for an appraisal or the scope of an appraisal.

Q. What If We Cannot Render An Opinion?
A. If the CAGA Appraiser is unable to render an opinion, we will provide a refund to your account.

There are several reasons we will not be able to render an opinion among them are:

  1. If the scans or photos are inadequate, [e.g. too small, poor focus, bad lighting] then we will not be able to give an opinion. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind is if YOU can't see it very well, neither can we. Please don't send requests for items that cannot be clearly seen.
  2. On occasion something maybe “out of our area of expertise”. While our experts are the best in their field, they cannot know about everything.

Q. How Long Will It Take to Get My Opinion of Value?
A. Within 24-36 hours, you will receive an e-mail with the Opinion of Value or a notification for “Request for More Information” or an “Unable to Render” Opinion of Value response.
